Why do credit unions have volunteers?
The credit union movement started with volunteers. When the credit union was established members volunteered their own time to set up and manage these non-for-profit financial institutions within their community. Without the work of its volunteers, credit unions in Ireland wouldn’t have been able to grow.
At the heart of every credit union is its volunteers.
Every Credit Union needs a team of volunteers dedicated to ensuring a strong and viable future for all our members. An individual can develop both personally and professionally by volunteering. The benefits of volunteering with Larne Credit Union are as follows:-
- Gaining experience and skills with a professional financial services provider;
- Education and training;
- Enhances Personal development;
- Meet like minded people from the community;
- Give something back to your local community;
- Improve your communication skills.
